Reeves Rangers 2 –2 Caversham AFC Rhinos
Reeves Battle For Well Earned Draw
Reeves Rangers kicked off their debut season in Division 1 with a well earned draw on Saturday. Reeves started the game the brighter of the teams, with some slick passing and link up play between midfield and attack, backed up by some solid defending. However it was Caversham who took the lead with a quick ball played over the top of the Reeves defence and a well taken goal from the Caversham striker.
Credit to Reeves who responded by continuing to play slick passing football into the Caversham half. Reeves deserved equaliser came mid-way through the first half with the ball falling to Glen McDonald who cut inside from the right side and unleashed a fantastic strike from outside the penalty into the Caversham goal.
Half Time Reeves Rangers 1 – 1 Caversham AFC Rhinos 1
The second half saw both teams going close on goal. Reeves brought on new debut Josh Sharp who chased tirelessly in midfield whilst Reeves other debut player Tom Erangey continued to play a pivotal role in central defence.
Again Caversham took the lead mid way through the second half, which spurred Reeves on again to increase the pace of the game and unleash wave after wave of attacking football from both flanks. With about 5 minutes to go, Reeves scored their deserved equaliser with the ball falling to Tom Erangey to calmly place the ball into the Caversham goal for his debut goal. Reeves continued to attack for the last few minutes, however Caversham defended well and both teams taking a well earned point from the game
