Reeves Rangers Whites vs Reading Rangers
Saturday, 15th October 2011 - 10:30am

Result 4-4 - Outstanding Oliver!

A great performance by the whole team again today. The scoreline doesn't tell the full picture as Reeves definitely had the majority of the possession and played the better football. Highlights were Olivers outstanding defensive performance and Jacks first goal of the season (many more to come I'm sure). This was backed up by great goals from Joseph and Robbie and excellent support play from Joe and Alexander.
Well done again boys and keep enjoying your football.

Reeves Rangers Whites vs Wokingham & Emmbrook Orange
Saturday, 8th October 2011 - 10:30am

Result 4-1 - A Great Team Effort!

A chillier start to the day and the boys were a little nervous as they were playing their local rivals Wokingham & Emmbrook who had some good results behind them already this season and lots of goals! Who would have bragging rights in the playground on Monday!

Reeves were at a disadvantage from the start as we were without Harry and Alexander, so no subs. Oliver started in goal and Reeves kicked off enjoying the majority of the possesion for the first half. Joseph controlled the midfield well and Jack chased down the other team very effectively making it difficult for them to settle. Only a great performance from the opponents keeper kept us from scoring. However, against the run of play, Wokingham & Emmbrook scored midway through the first half with a very good long range effort. Reeves saw out the remainder of the first half and Oliver made some great saves to prevent us going further behind.

Second half and Jack was now in goal. Without being prompted by the coaches Joe started organising the team from the kick off making sure everyone spread out. Great to see (potential future captain material??). Once again Reeves had most of the possesion and then the breakthrough with a great long range strike from Robbie. This was followed by equally great goals from Joe and Joseph. Wokingham & Emmbrook tried everything they could to score but some brilliant tackling from Oliver and great saves from Jack made sure we kept a clean sheet in the second half. However, Reeves weren't finished there and Joseph scored the goal of the match with a great run and shot from a tight angle into the corner of the goal.

It was great to see the boys playing so well as a team and coming back from being a goal down to win convincingly. The effort award was presented to Jack this week for his unselfish play and hard work.

Well done boys!!!
